  • Why not try a safer alternative?
  • Why use an aerial rescue device?

Twenty-seven years ago, Nisto Inc. was formed because its founder, a lineman, discovered the need for an effective way to perform CPR on an injured lineman in an aerial basket accident. At the time, many companies revised their pole top rescue procedures from attempting to revive the injured on the pole, to a method of immediately removing him from the pole, so that CPR could be performed.

Since some aerial baskets reached the ground it was thought the injured could be manually pulled from the bottom of the bucket and over the rim. In field conditions this has been proven to be all but impossible if the victim is unconscious and there was a weight difference between the victim and the rescuer.
